On the 31st of May 2010 Derovo Group’s new production unit was officially opened in Mieres, in the Spanish province of Astúrias. The official ceremony was presided over by D.Vicente Álvarez Areces, President of the Government of the Principality of Astúrias and the event was attended by numerous guests including shareholders, business partners, clients and suppliers. After a solemn moment marked by the unveiling of the inaugural plaque, the guests had the opportunity to visit the new facilities.
Derovo was the big winner of Rock in Rio’s “Sustainable Attitude” Award in the business category. The trophies were awarded at a special ceremony on the 17th of March at the Museum of Electricity in Lisbon which was attended by a host of personalities.
This award recognizes Derovo’s business conduct regarding: its policy on integration and support of people with disabilities; its multiple quality certifications; its commitment to constant innovation for which it won the Egg Products Company of the Year Award in 2002; and above all, its leading role within the national agricultural sector as a result of absorbing most of the production and of propelling an increase in activity.

Derovo was, once again, present at one of the biggest and best international food industry exhibitions which attracts over 150,000 visitors. Alimentaria 2010 took place in Barcelona this year, from the 22nd to the 26th March and the Derovo Group was represented with its biggest ever stand. Measuring 230m², it was filled with excellent products including novelties such as ready-to-use spray meringue- which was shortlisted for the INNOVAL2010 Award- and pasteurized liquid egg in new packaging. Its presence helped to reinforce the Iberian presence as well as Derovo Group’s commitment to internationalisation.
